While it was slow-going for both sides in the opening quarter, Moama was able to sneak one major and behind past while holding the Purples to no score to take a seven-point lead at the first break.
Things began to open up for the hosts in the second period with the Magpies slotting two more goals while stifling Nathalia’s attacking production, the lead 20 at the major break.
The Purples finally got on the board in the third term, but it was to no avail as the Magpies continued to spread their wings, kicking 1.2 to increase their lead to 22 with a quarter to go.
The Purples could muster only one minor down the stretch while Moama soared with 1.4 to end its day, taking down the visitors 5.8 (38) to 1.1 (7).
Ruby McLeod (2) led the way in front of goal while Charlie Martin, Ella Plattfuss and Grace Riddell all kicked a goal each.
The 31-point victory is Moama’s fifth victory on the season and it sits alone at the top of the table as the last remaining undefeated side in the competition.
The Magpies will have a prime opportunity to extend their streak when they face Shepparton United in round six after beating the Demons by 47 points in round three.
