Titled ‘Museum of the Missing’, the project will be led by young creatives aged 10-16 years and facilitated by three local artists.
Together they will design and develop the contents of the museum.
Local artists Chantall Barnes, Mel Anderson and Meg Williams will work with the team of young curators to interview community members, discover themes that are ‘missing’, and create artworks based around those themes.
Workshops will run after school and during the school holidays.
The museum will then be open to the public for one week only, from July 28-31.
Funding to support the project has been sourced through Create NSW, Regional Arts Fund, Edward River Council and Transgrid.
An information session for anyone interested in participating, and their families, will be held today from 4.30pm, in the museum space at 133 End St, Deniliquin.
