And that’s precisely what music lovers in Deniliquin enjoyed on Saturday, when the program brought the Penny Quartet to Deniliquin.
Their Riverina tour program began with Haydn, renowned as “the father of the string quartet’’, before exploring new musical territories from Australian composer Peter Sculthorpe and Grammy Award-winning contemporary composer Caroline Shaw. There was also a tribute to Maurice Ravel.
Hosted at the South West Music Regional Conservatorium, its staff and volunteers put on one of their popular afternoon tea for guests.
