After downing Barooga by 35 goals the previous weekend the Eagles retained their good form on Saturday, taking out Finley by 15 goals at Finley Recreation Reserve.
United was on top throughout the game, but the Cats were able to stay in touch during the first half.
The Eagles would lead 16-12 at the first break and extend that advantage slightly to 31-26 at half-time.
With the game still in the balance, United stayed the course, more than doubling the half-time lead to 11 at three-quarter time and putting thoughts of a Finley comeback to the back of people’s minds.
The trend continued in the final period, resulting in a 64-49 win for the Eagles.
Sitting three games out of sixth with six to play, it is unlikely this run will lead United to post-season netball, but the opportunity remains for the Eagles to improve on their current eighth position, as they trail Tongala by half a game.
The side will have a chance to take stock before entering the final third of the year, as the Murray league heads into a general bye on July 5.
On its return, Echuca United will be looking for a third win in a row as it faces bottom team Cobram, a side the Eagles beat handily in their first meeting of the year.
