Lorna McConnell has 1000 reasons to celebrate this silly season.

Ms McConnell was the first of four winners to pocket a $1000 gift card courtesy of the Riverine Herald and Rock Solid Gardening Supplies’ Shop Local and Win campaign.
A Moama resident for 20 years, Ms McConnell said she would often fill out an entry form at participating businesses as a formality, but never imagined her name would be the lucky one drawn for a major prize.
“I couldn’t quite believe it, I was overwhelmed,” she said of receiving the winning call.
“I’ve probably won a couple Christmas hampers (over the years), but never anything of this size.”
Echuca’s Lyn Suffolk took out second prize, pocketing a $500 gift card.
Shoppers can enter the draw by shopping locally at one of the participating businesses, with three more sets of vouchers to be drawn weekly.
