Experts will share insight on practical ‘opportunity pools’ for farmers to delve into and the different prospects available for farmers to diversify their income streams.
The day will be led by Robert Pekin (Food Connect) alongside Andrew Ward (Regen Farmers Mutual), Christie Clarke (Pollination Group), Sascha Healy (Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group) and Emily Wilson (Murray Local Land Services).
Event organiser Jacqueline McArthur said the event will uncover the full potential of farmers assets.
“We want to showcase for farmers the opportunities that already exist and those to come,” she said.
“Many farmers don't realise the potential value of their natural assets – their opportunities for solving problems with non-productive land, their wetlands, native vegetation, soil health, and water resources."
The program will also touch on environmental markets and government grants, premium supply chain opportunities, local economy networks, philanthropy and impact investment, and hybrid and emerging opportunities.
The free event will be hosted at the Barham Golf Club from 9.30am to 2.30pm and will be fully catered.
It is open to anyone with an interest in agriculture, farming communities, sustainability, natural environment management, and local economic development.
This event has been supported by the NSW Government through Murray Local Land Services’ Awareness raising activities to promote the value of on-farm natural assets program.
