Early Learning Victoria will host two information sessions about the development of the Cohuna Early Learning and Childhood Education Centre in town.
Gannawarra Shire Council chief executive Geoff Rollinson said the visit was a chance for families to hear about how the project could benefit them.
“Council has worked with residents over the past few years to advocate for improved current and future early childhood development and childcare needs for Cohuna and district families,” he said.
“The state government’s announcement in October last year that it will construct and operate an early learning centre in Cohuna was welcomed, and it is pleasing to see this project progress to the consultation phase.”
Co-located at Cohuna Consolidated School, the facility will offer three-year-old kindergarten sessions and the new pre-Prep program.
Long day care rooms will be available, along with a maternal and child health consulting room and a space for supported playgroups, professional consultations and meetings.
Those wanting to learn more about the centre can visit a drop-in session at Cohuna Consolidated School on Friday, August 22 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
Early Learning Victoria team members will also be at the Cohuna Farmers and Makers Market at Garden Park on Sunday, August 24 to answer questions.
