Tongala is all but assured of a finals position in Murray Netball League after securing victory against Congupna at the weekend.
The Blues improved to 10-7 after logging their sixth straight win against the middling Road, 66-43.
The surge has brought the Blues from two games adrift of the top six all the way up to fourth.
It would now take an extremely unlikely combination of results for Tongala to fall from the finals in the last round, its placing all but guaranteed to fall somewhere between fourth and sixth.
Any result except a draw between Moama and Numurkah locks in the Blues’ finals status.
Even if the sides do finish deadlocked, Tongala would have to drop its final fixture against Mulwala, at Tongala Recreation Reserve, by a huge margin to lose its current percentage advantage.
Finally, Deniliquin would also need to pick up a win against Echuca United.
That final round fixture against the Lions will be a good measuring stick for the in-form Blues.
Tongala lost to Mulwala by 10 goals in round 8 on May 31.
