A highlight of this year’s South Gippsland Dairy & Farming Expo on September 3 and 4 is a behind-the-scenes visit to one of Gippsland’s most talked-about dairy operations, Mt Lyall Dairies.

On Wednesday, September 3, climb aboard the complimentary bus at 2.30pm from the expo at Korumburra Showgrounds, and travel to the Lancey family’s state-of-the-art Nyora property.

Mt Lyall Dairies is home to a brand-new 100-stand rotary dairy and an enormous loafing barn so striking, locals joke, “you can see it from Mars”.

During this two-hour guided tour, you’ll see how modern technology and smart infrastructure are transforming dairy farming.

From the sheer scale of the rotary platform to the innovation behind cow comfort in the loafing barn, every corner is built for efficiency, productivity and sustainability.

You’ll also witness a live drone demonstration, showcasing how aerial technology is changing the way farmers monitor and manage their herds and land.

Afternoon tea is provided, as well as the opportunity to network with farmers, industry suppliers and ag enthusiasts.
