Murray Football Netball League recognised its best of the best on Sunday night and there were plenty of Moama, Echuca United and Tongala names among the award winners.

Invited parties gathered at Moama Bowling Club to see who would come out on top in the major categories across the seven netball and four football leagues.

Echuca United players picked up several major honours on the night.
Senior player Matthew Lias earned the approval of his peers across the league, bringing home the club-voted Eagle I MVP award.

Netball star Diaz Agg earned the prestigious Wendy Brooks Rookie of the Year award, stepping up to a much-improved Eagles A-grade outfit and featuring in the grand final-bound 17-and-under squad.
Her teammate, Coby Morgan, polled 30 votes in 17-and-under, defending the league best-and-fairest honour she won as a bottom-ager last year.
Moama’s Bodhi Teasdale-Dohnt won the under-17 best-and-fairest.

The team overall was distinguished as the best attacking and best defensive side in the competition.
Moama claimed its fifth consecutive champion club award for best overall performance across all grades.
Tongala’s Tracey Hughes was named C-grade best-and-fairest.

The Magpies will have six teams vying for premierships at the grand finals on Saturday.
From an individual standpoint, Bohdi Teasdale-Dohnt’s 26 votes saw him named under-17 best-and-fairest, while the club’s A-grade coach was runner-up in B-grade.
Josh Smith kicked 57 goals to top the reserves.
Tongala’s Mikaela Pyke won the C-reserve best-and-fairest.

Tongala had a pair of netball best-and-fairest winners, as co-coach Tracey Hughes took out the C-grade honour, while Mikaela Pyke won the award in C-reserve.
The Blues’ Jedd Turpin was recognised as the leading goal-kicker (62) in 17-and-under.
The major honours saw Cobram and Rumbalara talents recognised.
Jedd Turpin kicked 62 goals for Tongala, the most in the under-17s.

The Tigers’ Jackson Trengove won the O’Dwyer Medal with 27 votes, while Rumba’s Jessie Barnes-Hill won the A-grade award for a third time.
Both winners will be looking to add a premiership to their haul in the top-flight deciders on Saturday.
