Two teams won both their games with the overall winners on the night being Anna Meyer (s), Geoff Smith and Brian Wilkinson (+12) from runners-up Steve (Knockers) Nolan (s), and Wes Newton (+8).
The first round of the five-week five-a-side competition commenced on Tuesday of last week with six teams competing.
Dennis Compton, Eddie Blampied and Chris Lynch were all fill-ins, ably assisted by June Clifford and Joan Hallo to win the first round for Darters.
The other five teams competing are Hotshots, Thistles, Roses, Battlers and Cookies.
Thursday’s Jackpot Pairs saw 22 teams attend and after a very close afternoon of bowls there were seven teams winning both games, starting with Toby Egan and Eugene Xodo (+3), Jim Ferrier and Eddie Blampied (+7), Don Hicks and John Kelly (+8), Mal Thorn and Bill Cook (+13), Ashley French and Daryl LaVelle (+15), runners-up John Brown and Maurie Hately (+16) with the winners Brian Trengove and Alan Awty (+18).
Best one game went to Peter and Keith (Chooka) Tinning (+19).
Midweek pennant was a mixed bag with wins to divisions one and two and a narrow loss to division three.
Division one romped home by 18 shots against Rochester thanks to a 40 -12 win by Leica Roney (s), Pat Schram, Robyn Tooley and Sue Proctor to retain second place on the ladder one point behind Moama.
Division two faced Rochester at home and managed a 12-shot victory to hold second place on the ladder just ahead of Rich River.
Best rink went to Heather Trotter (s), Bill Curnow, Bernadette Johns and Ros Neil who won by 19 shots.
Division three travelled to Tongala and suffered a three-shot loss, drawing one rink and going down by three on the other.
Weekend pennant was also a mixed bag with divisions two and four A Blue having wins, but divisions one, three and four B White suffering losses.
Division one hosted Tongala in what was expected to be a tough encounter, but the visitors were too strong all round, winning two rinks and sharing the third for a 26-shot win (1 - 15).
We still hold top spot on the ladder with 132 points from Tongala 96 and Deniliquin 80.
Division two travelled to Mathoura and continued their good form with a comfortable 19-shot victory with all rinks up.
Best performance came from Wally Fehring (s), Albert Clark, Ashley French and Mal Thorn (+11).
Division three travelled to Elmore and managed to win one rink, but lost overall by 19 shots.
The lone rink winners were Lal Whyte (s), Dick North, Steve Campion, and June Clifford (+5).
Division four A Blue defeated Tongala by 27 shots at home with the best being Ron Payne (s), Trevor McColl, Jeff Werner and Kevin McAsey.
Division four B White travelled to Tongala and went down by one shot with stand in skipper Bill Cook, Paul Leach, Daryl LaVelle and John Cowan winning their rink by 13 shots.
