Parts of Echuca are currently experiencing a power outage, initially affecting about 2500 homes.

The first of the outages were reported at 2.42pm, with Powercor managing to bring the number of affected homes to about 1000 homes in under an hour.
A representative from Powercor said the outage was caused by various issues following severe windy conditions.
Powercor expects to have power restored at the remaining homes by approximately 7pm on Wednesday, October 22.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, residents across western and central Victoria are experiencing strong northwest to westerly winds averaging 50 to 60km/h, with damaging gusts up to 100 km/h.
