The live telecast of the event will start from 8am on Saturday, February 12, with the junior and social class events.
They will be followed by the expert class, with the Baker’s Blitz and President’s Dash Shoot Out starting at 2pm on day one of the racing.
The top 40 teams all be vying for pole position on Sunday, a Bathurst-style countdown from the 40th fastest to the fastest boat overall tackling the course.
On Saturday the Victoria Park finish line precinct gates will open at 7am, featuring live footage on the big screen and commentary of the racing.
There will be the usual Southern 80 merchandise, along with trade displays and free children’s entertainment.
Presentations for Saturday’s event will be at 5pm.
Friday will include the usual breakfast with the stars at the Kerrabee Soundshell in Meninya St, Moama. It will start at 7am.
Sunday’s racing will start at 8am, with competitors tackling the Torrumbarry Weir to Victoria Park course.
Following the completion of junior and speed-restricted classes, the winner of Saturday’s Baker’s Blitz and President’s Dash will then take to the course from 12.30pm.
Presentations will be at 5pm on Sunday, with the teams that finish on the podium on display to complete the weekend.
Entries close for the big event on Friday, December 31, with the official event program on sale from Wednesday, February 2.
Echuca’s American Hotel will launch the Southern 80 weekend on Thursday, February 10, at Heygarth St.
Boats will speed beneath the new Echuca-Moama bridge for the first time in 2022, before arriving at the Victoria Park finish line. Entry to the finish line precinct will cost $35 for the weekend, or $25 a day.
Tickets will be available via www.southern80.com.au in mid-December.
