October is Breast Cancer awareness month. Be a friend and encourage a friend to have an important breast screen. Sharing your experience of your breast screen can make it less daunting.
Women aged 50-74 years and Aboriginals aged 40-74 years can have a free breast screen every two years with this proving to be the best way for early detection.
Breast screening can detect breast cancer before symptoms appear, allowing more treatment options, and better chance of survival. Nine out of ten diagnosed have no family history.
A breast screen with Breast Screen NSW is free and only takes 20 minutes.
Book an appointment now by calling 13 20 50, or online at the breastscreen NSW website.
