With Stanhope having the bye and Echuca drawing with Mathoura, the two Campaspe Playing Area weekend pennant heavyweights maintained their status in round five.

Elsewhere, Rochester finally got its first win for the season, taking down Tongala 15-61 to 1-47, Moama put Rich River to the sword 15-80 to 1-45 and Deniliquin ran over the top of Kyabram 12-50 to 4-47.
Nothing could separate Echuca and Mathoura despite the former snagging two more points in a 9-51 to 7-51 finish.

Mathoura’s Michael Humphrey’s got a win over the Ian Page-led Echuca team in rink two 20-16, before Echuca’s Stephen Cunnington and Phillip Thorn tallied victories against Peter Holzer and Ricky Ireland 15-14 and 20-17, respectively.
Despite Mathoura’s Keith Hewitt and Moama’s Robert Young drawing in rink one 18 apiece, Michael Linehan and Geoffrey Beattie ran over the top of Tim Noar and Gary Radford to give the Steamers the win.
Rochester skip Tim Quinlan defeated Stephen Hammond 23-12.

Rochester’s Richard Feuk and Tongala’s Matthew Liverton couldn’t be split, drawing 19-all before Timothy Quinlan and Leslie Walles ran over the top of Stephen Hammond and Bradley Tinning, respectively.
Although Kyabram’s Robert George and Paul McInnes got wins over Deniliquin’s Conway Bovell and Stephen O’Brien 20-12 and 17-16, respectively, Deni’s Shane Laing put Greg Shilling to the sword 22-10 to take the overall win.

Lower grades
In division two, Tongala snagged one over Kyabram 12-63 to 4-60, while Rich River escaped Deniliquin 14-57 to 2-53 and Kyabram pulled a victory out against Moama 66-14 to 2-37.
It was a full slate of games in division three, Echuca soundly defeated Elmore 16-74 to 0-52, Moama took down Rich River 16-76 to 0-54 and Rochester snuck past Tongala 13-59 to 3-55.
Graham Willis’ rink led by Richard Feuk drew with Matthew Liverton’s side 19-19.

Meanwhile, Stanhope got a tight victory over Lockington 12-55 to 4-52 and Kyabram extended its unbeaten streak to five after defeating Deniliquin 16-71 to 0-44.
Division four also saw a full slate of games as Moama and Kyabram remain perfect heading into round six after defeating Rich River 16-69 to 0-43 and Kyvalley View 15-69 to 1-50, respectively.

Elsewhere, Echuca nabbed a scalp over Mathoura 14-63 to 2-62, Rochester triumphed over Tongala 14-59 to 2-56 and Deniliquin RSL took down Lockington 14-65 to 2-61.
To round out Saturday, division five saw Deniliquin Blue keeping the good times rolling at the top of the tree, slaying Echuca White 12-47 to 2-45.
Lead Robert Clayton took down counterpart Steven Usher and Tongala 19-16 in rink two.

In a local derby Moama pulled one over Rich River 13-47 to 1-38, Echuca Blue won out against Stanhope 14-42 to 0-30, Deniliquin White beat 12-41 to 2-38 and Rochester fell to Lockington 2-34 to 12-38.
