Rochester got on the board in round three of the Campaspe Tennis Association’s division one competition, while Echuca 1 continues to prove it’ll be a force to be reckoned with all season long.

A back and forth contest between Rochester and Lockington-Bamawm United was the highlight of the round, with both sides fighting for their first win of the season.
Harrison Condliffe got the ball rolling for LBU, taking down Jacob Grieves in the first men’s singles 7-5 before Rochester’s Rhys Holmberg answered, taking down Darryl Squires 6-2.

LBU took a strong overall lead after sweeping the three men’s doubles matches 8-5, 8-7 and 8-4.
Katie Condliffe and Narelle Bacon kept the good times rolling for LBU, defeating Kate Lee and Rachael Major 8-2.

From there, Rochester took over.
Not only did Rochy take the next three women’s doubles 8-4, 8-4, 8-3, but, it split the mixed doubles with LBU two apiece to snatch a come from behind win 8-7 and its first win of the 2025-26 campaign.

In a derby at Echuca Tennis Club, Echuca 1 took down Echuca 2 comfortably to keep its unbeaten start alive.
Echuca 1 won both of the men’s singles matches to get the day started, with Jack Byrne taking down Josh Boyd 7-5 and Eli Kingma putting Logan Milnes to the sword 6-0.

Echuca 2 fired back, winning two out of three men’s doubles, with Phil Higgins featuring in both winning sides, partnering Boyd to defeat Byrne and Todd Charnas 8-1 and Shaun Trice to beat Hugh Melville and Nick Bush 8-4.
Echuca 1 took out the first three women’s doubles 8-7, 8-6, 8-6 before Jess Cox and Jenny Townrow snatched one back against Lauri Melville and Celine Joyce 8-3.

The two sides split the mixed doubles 2-2, giving the win to Echuca 1 8-5.
Round four will see Echuca 2 take on Rochester and Echuca 1 battle it out with LBU, both matches to be held at Echuca Lawn Tennis Club.

Division two
With Colbinabbin having the bye in round three, the other four sides were in action in division two.
Tiger Bloods suffered a loss at the hands of Echuca 5 8-5 and Echuca 4 had a similar fate, going down to Echuca 3 5-8.
