Organised by Campaspe Shire Council’s Youth Action Group, the event created fun, safe and inclusive opportunities for local youths.
Mayor Daniel Mackrell recognised how important these types of events were for adolescents in regional communities.
“Bringing young people together in a safe, welcoming space is so important for regional towns,” he said.
“Events like this give teens a chance to connect and feel part of their community.”
The high-energy night featured a DJ setting the vibe for dancing, and friendly competitions, including Just Dance and limbo, with plenty of prizes to give away.
Attendees also enjoyed a 360 photo booth and face painting, creating a vibrant atmosphere inside the packed venue.
“One of the best parts of the night was seeing everyone so happy, confident and connected," a Campaspe Youth Action Group spokesperson said.
“Our team wanted to create a space where young people could simply have fun and feel supported, and the response was incredible.”
The event was supported by Youth Affairs Council Victoria and Thorne Harbour Health, while headspace Echuca ensured the night was welcoming, safe and well resourced.
Amplify and the Victorian Government funded the fully supervised, drug-, alcohol- and smoke-free event.
The Youth Action Group is now welcoming new members aged 13 to 24 who want to help shape future youth-led events across the shire.
