Locals and ‘adopted locals’ ― those from nearby towns or with a connection to the area ― are invited to their old haunt for a night of nostalgic music from DJ Dave Stratton.
Organiser Suzy Farley said the night would be a great chance to create new memories while reminiscing on older ones.
“It’s old mates coming together. That’s the main drawcard ... They’re coming from around Australia, and sometimes overseas,” she said.
“People can dress up in ’70s, ’80s gear if they feel like it, and we have had quite a few people dressing up at the last few events, which is always fun to watch.”
Unlike a school year reunion, the event extends to a wide range of people who grew up in the area over the decade, or visited frequently throughout their younger years.
It also presents a chance to reconnect with familiar faces in an informal and laid-back environment.
Ms Farley said the most important things in life were loved ones, your health and a sense of humour, and the reunion was a chance to celebrate all three.
“Let’s give ourselves a pat on the back for still being here, and let’s celebrate the ones who are no longer here,” she said.
“It's fantastic in the way that we can all intermingle and catch up and have a good laugh. We were born in a really good era.”
The reunion will be held upstairs at the American Hotel on Saturday, and run from 7pm to 2am.
