Board members, Beacon leaders, sponsors and representatives from the five member schools gathered at the Moama RSL to reflect on Beacon’s past 12 months.
Board chair Sue Turner opened the meeting before delivering her chairperson report.
Ms Turner thanked everyone who helped bring the Beacon programs together and congratulated the 2025 Beacon leaders for their work throughout the year.
As she recounted major achievements throughout the year, she also highlighted a new initiative created by Beacon to help students with education costs.
“This year we are very pleased to have implemented a new initiative, in the form of a financial scholarship for students from Tear 9 to 12,” she said.
“We are confident that this will benefit students that may otherwise be unable to pursue their career goals.”
The board hopes the funds can be used to purchase tangible items such as learning materials, computer technology, extracurricular learning, trade equipment or workwear.
Treasurer Mark Thomson also presented his financial report on the night, followed by Beacon project manager Cath Elms.
Ms Elms took the opportunity to thank those who supported the students, including beacon co-ordinators and the board members.
She said a major highlight for her was seeing the growth of the students involved in the program.
“As we come together tonight, I'm incredibly proud to reflect on a year of growth, collaboration and genuine community spirit across the Echuca Moama Beacon Foundation,” she said.
“A true highlight of this year has been watching the confident, talented young people that we see tonight ... seeing the development has been one of the most rewarding parts of this role.”
The new Beacon promotional video was also launched at the AGM.
The video, featuring Beacon leaders, co-ordinators and members, will be a universal resource that can be shared with future students, teachers and the broader community.
A few of the Beacon leaders also had a chance to share their experiences with attendees, reflecting on the different programs and their impact.
To close the meeting, Ms Turner thanked all the sponsors for their support and presented each with certificates.
