Each year, students from local primary schools write letters to Santa, sharing their Christmas wishes.
Once the letters are completed, teachers bundle them together for the Echuca Lions Club to collect.
This year, the Lions collected and delivered around 600 letters to Santa.
Echuca Lions Club member Kevin Woolnough said the Lions had been messengers for Santa for many years.
“Lions have been arranging these letters for almost 40 years and all schools are very supportive of this project,” he said.
“Many students, in their letters, ask how Mrs Claus is — well, I can say that Mrs Claus is well at the moment and really helped with all the letters and later the toys.”
The Lions Club will aim to deliver Santa’s responses to students’ letters before Christmas Day.
