The Goulburn Valley Playing Area’s men and women’s state singles winners have been crowned for this season.
And it was an epic finale at East Shepparton that had everyone on the edge of their seats.
The women’s decider between Shepparton Park’s Kate Bush and Tallygaroopna’s Carla Miles went down to the wire at the weekend in a repeat of last season’s final.
It was a familiar storyline, however, with Bush notching a third straight title 26 shots to 24.
At one point trailing by 10 shots, Bush recovered to win a run of five ends and take the match to the 26th, clinching two shots to win.
In the men’s edition, Shepparton Golf’s Brent Reiner enjoyed a strong run into finals before meeting Josh Warren in Saturday’s final.
Reiner streaked away early and despite a comeback from Warren through the middle stages, the Golf dynamo would not be headed en route to a resounding 25-11 win.
