Kunjin and Japanese encephalitis detected

Murray River Council is considered to be a high-risk area for Japanese encephalitis, with residents and visitors encouraged to avoid mosquito bites.

Free vaccinations for the virus are available by appointment at GPs, Aboriginal health services and some pharmacists for those who meet the eligibility criteria.
