Deniliquin’s population has been boosted by holidaymakers, who are flocking to our river and other recreation spots for rest and relaxation.
Among them is the Maselli family, who have favoured McLean Beach over the festive period.
From the Bellarine Peninsula, near Geelong, the family are regular visitors to the area and have become attached to what the district has to offer.
Anthony Maselli said the family have a place here in Deniliquin, and travel up and visit a few times a year.
In Deniliquin for the holiday period, the family enjoy getting in the water with their boat, enjoying some skiing and water fun with the kids.
They were among several travellers from across the country seeking refuge from the heat at the beach on Tuesday.
Unsurprisingly, most came from the Melbourne area.
The Masellis said the weather had been a standout, as it was quite a lot warmer than in southern Victoria this week.
