Lockington marks Australia Day

Around 100 Lockington residents kicked off their Australia Day with a community breakfast at the Lockington Lions Park.

Despite the forecast heat, the morning weather was just right for a barbecue in the park.

The Lockington Lions Club provided breakfast for all to enjoy, with friends and neighbours taking the chance to catch up.

After breakfast, the crowd made their way to the cenotaph for the flag-raising ceremony before heading to the Community Centre to listen to a guest speaker.

This year's speaker was Jess Hardess, who shared her experiences of being involved in a small but close-knit community.
