Edward River Library hosted two free painting workshops with artist Narges Dashti last week, drawing in locals for a relaxed and creative day of guided art.

An adult session ran in the morning, followed by an afternoon class for kids.
Participants learned step‑by‑step techniques and got to take home their finished pieces.
The strong turnout helped pave the way for a new initiative, with weekly art classes to run through the school terms each Thursday. Most Deniliquin district schools return from February 9.
The sessions will cater to kids (5+), teens, adults and home schoolers, offering accessible, guided painting and drawing for all skill levels.
