The Campaspe Shire Council workshop will provide practical, easy-to-understand guidance for landowners navigating the challenges of animal mortalities after fires, floods and other emergencies.
Participants will learn about their roles and responsibilities, best-practice disposal methods, communication requirements with key agencies and strategies to improve preparedness ahead of future events.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said having clear information and practical strategies in place before a crisis hit made an enormous difference to recovery and resilience.
“This workshop has proven valuable in the past, giving landowners the confidence and knowledge to manage livestock losses in a safe, responsible and well-supported way,’’ he said.
‘’I encourage anyone who hasn’t attended before to register.’’
The session is on Thursday, March 19, from 10am to 1pm (please arrive by 9.45am) at Echuca and District Livestock Exchange, 520 McKenzie Rd, Echuca.
The session is free and includes morning tea and light lunch provided. Bookings are essential, with limited spots available. Book by March 16 by phoning 1300 666 535 or logging on to campaspe.vic.gov.au/nowopen
