The Lions handed Moama its first defeat of the season, and in dominant fashion, in the final round of regular season Goulburn Murray Cricket, throwing the title race wide open for the final four.
The formerly perfect Mowers put together a decent total batting first, making 9-214, but batters up and down the order failed to convert starts into big scores.
From a tenuous 3-46, Joel Murphy and Jack Russell steadied the ship for the league-leader in a 52-run partnership, but both would eventually fall short of half centuries, Murphy gone for 44 and Russell for 48.
Rhys Drenan (27) and Clay McGregor (20 not out) made solid efforts further down the order, but the Mowers were below their best in posting the low 200s total.
Eight bowlers were used by BLU to keep Moama guessing, and the wickets were shared around.
Kade Pearse and Prateer Mehta had equal best figures of 2-29, while Jeremy Felmingham (2-49) was more expensive but also logged two wickets.
The score of 214 was by no means an easy total to chase down, but the Lions’ openers made it look that way in a clinical batting effort.
The often-devastating Moama attack failed to find answers, as Pearse and Mehta effectively balanced defence and attack in an impressive display of game management.
By the time Pearse fell for 91, the game was almost done, the opening stand worth 193, and the wicket served only to spur Mehta on as he notched his century, finishing 106 not out as the Lions reached the target in just under 46 overs.
Clay McGregor (1-41) was the only Mower to have joy in an uncharacteristically tough day out for the minor premier.
Moama now heads into a dangerous semi-final against Kyabram Fire Brigade next week at Moama Recreation Reserve, after the Flames took down another fellow finalist, Echuca South, to punch a ticket into the finals.
BLU will go into the clash with the Swans with plenty of confidence after this win, taking on South at Bamawm Recreation Reserve in the other semi-final.
The winners will face off on Sunday, March 8 with the McMahon Shield on the line.
