I am writing in response to the letter written by Cyril White to the Courier on Wednesday, February 11.
I fully concur with Mr White’s article concerning the placement of rocks along the parking area at Thompson’s Beach.
I have lived in the Cobram township for approximately 70 years and have seen some beautiful improvements and landscaping during that time, and some not so good.
However, this placement of large boulders among the natural vegetation and red gum trees along the parking area is a total disgrace.
Much smaller bollards as suggested by Mr White, I believe, would have been much more suitable and less costly in the long term.
Thompson’s Beach, in my opinion, is Cobram’s greatest tourist attraction but the area has now lost a lot of its natural beauty by the placement of these ugly boulders along the car parking area.
Ross Jones,
Cobram
