For the first time in over two years, the Matildas started with an attacking trident boasting the names of Mary Fowler, Sam Kerr and Caitlin Foord.
Their quality shone brightly in a 4-0 win over Iran on the Gold Coast on Thursday as Fowler, making a first international start in close to 12 months, grabbed her first Matildas' goal since last year after being sidelined with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Kerr returned from the same injury six months ago but has shown signs she is getting back to her best.
It's a prospect that excites Montemurro as the Matildas head to Sydney on Sunday aiming to defeat South Korea and finish on top of group A.
"It's very important that we integrate them in the right way because they're coming back from major injuries," the Australia coach said.
"It's about football with them now, they're not being modified in training.
"It's all about just making sure they do the role that's needed for the team.
"We give them the space to be the best that they can be.
"They are players that can create things out of nothing and that's where, in these tournaments, it's very important for certain players."
Fowler's goal came after Amy Sayer's eighth-minute opener before Alanna Kennedy popped up with either side of halftime.
South Korea remain top of group A with a superior goal difference over Australia, the Koreans having scored six goals across their two 3-0 wins over Iran and the Philippines.
That means Australia, who've already qualified for the knockout stages, will have to win on Sunday if they are to progress as group winners.
"It's going to be an exciting game, I think we have two teams that want to dominate the game and want to dominate possession.
"It's going to be a bit of a wrestling match from that perspective.
"I don't like playing the Russian roulette of goals and those calculations, they never work.
"Even if we got the goal scenario, I would never let this team go in and say, 'all we need is a draw to top the group'. It doesn't work.
"We always knew that we needed to win this game, so for me it's just business as usual."
