Locky finished the year as minor premier, but had to battle through a hard-fought semi-final against Stanhope to earn direct passage to the decider.
Moama Green fought through clubmate Moama Black and got the best of Stanhope in the preliminary final to secure an unlikely grand final berth, but couldn’t complete the fairytale against the league-leader.
Lockington bowled strongly throughout the contest, edging away at a consistent rate to take both rinks and a 51-34 win.
Stephen Peter’s side looked particularly good, taking down Moama’s Ken Black 25-14.
In the other rink, Cindy Felmingham led her squad to another win, 26-20.
The new champion had been unable to defeat its grand final opponent earlier in the season, dropping the first match-up and finishing drawn in the second, but finally broke through when it mattered most to walk away with the title.
