The Steamers fell a fortnight earlier in the qualifying semi, but after negotiating the preliminary final with Tongala, surged back to life in the final to take down the minor premier 45-30.
The rink skipped by Deni’s John Murray and Moama’s Peter Whitlock completely turned around from the semi-final, Whitlock’s squad claiming it 25-15 after dropping the match-up 25-18 a fortnight earlier.
The other rink also finished in a Moama victory, David Lonnie’s side getting the best of a Bruce Clancy-led quartet 20-15.
Deniliquin had finished on top of the ladder with an 11-1-2 record, but couldn’t convert a great year into a premiership.
Moama posted a 9-2-3 record in the regular season, finishing second, and ended the year with the overall advantage over Deniliquin, also defeating the minor premier earlier in the campaign.
