Speaking to the Riv, a Powercor representative confirmed there was a fault identified in Echuca.
The cause for the fault and where it occurred is still under investigation.
Crews responding to the outage managed to isolate the fault, bringing power back online for close to 2500 residents who had an electricity-free morning.
Some residents around Landsborough St may still be experiencing difficulties, according to the Powercor website.
Estimated restoration is now 2.30pm.
While most of Echuca has power back, some residents may still be experiencing difficulty accessing power.

UPDATE: Residents in the east of Echuca are reporting their power is coming back on.
Down High St the banks, cafes, restaurants and retail shops have closed up temporarily.
Power seems to be coming on slowly across the region, with the number of customers reported with power increasing.
At its last update at 11.49am, Powercor reports 209 customers are without power, but the scope of the area remains the same.

Local residents are reporting power outages across Echuca and Echuca Village this morning.
The Powercor website shows the outage, which started at around 9.50am, spreading from Echuca’s central business district out to Kayapella.
The website reports that 2634 customers in Echuca, Echuca Village, lower Moira, and Yambuna facing outages.
What caused the power outage is currently under investigation by Powercor and it has listed an estimated repair time of 1pm.
Multiple businesses and community groups are reporting on Facebook they don’t have power including Tara’s Hall Hotel, who will be opening late today as a result, and community radio station EMFM who are now off-air.
