That was undoubtedly the hope of Bendigo Bank staff as they handed a cheque of $1771 to Arts for All to support the group in painting the Mivo Park toilet block.
Arts for All, whose mission is to help fill Cobram with art to make the town more vibrant and draw more visitors to the region, recently decided to paint a mural on the toilet block.
The facility, which sits almost in the centre of town, has been criticised for looking bland.
A poll on social media earlier this year showed popular support for a mural depicting flora and fauna.
Other ideas were river scenes, native birds, orchard scenes and Indigenous art.
The money raised by Bendigo Bank staff came from their 2024 Easter raffle.
A small ceremony was held on Monday, April 15, to present the cheque to Arts for All secretary Christie Molinaro and president June Wood.
Mrs Wood said she was thrilled about what the donation could achieve.
“It’s great,” Mrs Wood said.
“We are working on a project with the shire (council) to install a mural on the toilet block in Mivo Park, and the cheque will help make it all happen.”
Mrs Wood said she was grateful for the community support for the mural and thanked Bendigo Bank for running the raffle.
Arts for All’s other completed projects include Sherman the Tortoise, which sits outside the IGA in Cobram, and the mural on the Cobram Grand Central Hotel.
The group also plans to create mosaics of local wildlife to brighten up Thompsons Beach.
