Thursday, March 10:

There was a restricted field for the stroke round due to the Moama Masters pro-am. Colin Masenhelder and Kevin Clarke topped A and B-grade respectively with nett 72 and Neil Edwards had a hole-in-one to top off his day.

A-grade: Colin Masenhelder (72 nett) 1. Stephen Edwards (74 c/b) 2. Dennis Raftery (74) 3.

B-grade: Kevin Clarke (72) 1. Barry McMillan (73) 2. Mark Riley (74) 3.

Nearest-the-pins: Garry Spence, Baden Thorsen, Neil Edwards and Barry McMillan.

Of the 93 amateurs playing with the professionals in the Moama Masters pro-am, Shane Phelan came in first with 38 stableford points. Club vice-president Susan Hull was close behind on 37 points, on a countback to Nambour Golf Club visitor Scott Somerville.

Saturday, March 12:

Men’s: Paul Carey had the best score of the day in Saturday’s stableford round with 41 points to win C-grade. Ken Lambert took the top spot in A-grade with 40 points and visitor Steven Deller from Yarrawonga won B-grade, also with 40 points. Anthony Golding eagled the fifth and although Darren Burr did not figure in the place-getters he had cause to celebrate with his great shot to win the super-pin.

Women’s: Georgiana Azzopardi was the top scorer in the women’s competition with 39 points from Gloria Bennett’s 38 and Felicity Douglas made up the top three with 36.

Sunday, March 13:

Sunday was the Mixed Volkswagon Scramble qualifier and 104 players teamed up in fours to play the modified Ambrose round for the chance to play in the finals in Melbourne later in the year.

The family team of Sharna and Rhylee Chapman with Lachlan and Shannon Spinks were the day’s winners with a score of 53.125, ahead of Paul Newman, Stephen Harris, Axel Childs and Thomas Head with 53.875, on a countback to Brad Edwards, Geoff Connally, Jye Warren and Joshua Pell in third place.

Longest drives: Joshua Pell and Marcia Spiers.

Nearest-the-pins: Paul Newman (on 4th and 16th), Rhylee Chapman, Rick Robertson, Karen Mose and Judy Davey.

Monday, March 14:

The public holiday saw 115 players turn out for the medley stableford round on the east course. Geoff Burke starred on the day with 43 points to take the win in A-grade. Guy Galvin and Steve Loader were second and third with 38 points.

B-grade winner was John Bowman with 41 and Scott Slater had 40 points to win C-grade.

Tuesday, March 15:

The stroke round had the men playing off the red tees and some great scores were recorded, the best of which was Walter Tink’s 63 nett in C-grade, two shots clear of Dieter Zeissner’s 65 nett which won B-grade. Countbacks were needed to separate the top three in A-grade, all on 67 nett.

Wednesday, March 16:

There were two lots of winners this week as almost half the usual women's field played in the separate qualifying round of the annual Volkswagon Scramble. The team of Marion Whatley, Jan McGuinness, Debbie Morden and Diane Symons were the victors with 62.375 nett on a countback to Nacole Horneman, Joanne Watts, Gaye Legundi and Jo Cash.

In the club's competition the winning team was Susanne Riddington, Judy Cook, Deb Bawden and Gloria Bennett with 63.25 nett, ahead of Alison McKiterick, Marg Peat, Pam Talbot and Marg O'Brien with 66.5.

Nearest-the-pins: Debbie Morden, Simone Morgan, Jan Annakis, Terri O'Callaghan and Colleen Lynch.
