In the final analysis, the Lockington rink of Kevin Humbert, Ray Hanson, Andy Harris and Graham Turner collected the ‘super chooks’ for their effort.
Les Grill’s Kyabram team came second with three in the yardstick, also winners of four chooks.
This week, 60 and over continues at Tongala at 10am on Wednesday, December 15.
Echuca
Monday’s Pastoral Inn Triples saw 23 bowlers compete, with four two-game winners, including James McLaorin, Colin Ockwell and June Clifford (s) 2+ 28.
Runners-up were Peter Hamm, Rick Phyland and Steve Nolan (s) 2+ 14.
Winners of the five-a-side tournament held at Echuca Bowls Club for the past five weeks were the Thistles, comprising of Phillip Thorn (s) Wilma Curnow, Max Clifford, Brian Wilkinson and Margaret Shearer.
Wednesday’s women’s Christmas fours winners were Michelle Cunnington, Di Payne, Lynda Ormando and Jill Young with +83, while runners-up were Jenny Tunta, Linda Hams, Cheryl Bradley and Maxine Naughtons with +80.
Best last game was Sandra Harvey, Lynn Snell, Cheryl Doherty and Elise Bennett. Ditch-to-ditch winners were Pat Schram, Dot Parkinson, Robyn Little and May Thomas.

We had 20 teams enter for our Christmas Fours; thank you to all who played for supporting our event.
We had teams from throughout the district which made it a good day to catch up with people we have missed seeing.
Good weather and fast greens made for good bowls being played.

Lockington
The club’s women were treated to excellent conditions for their weekly social bowls.
The game of triples was played to a high standard, and the winning trio comprised of Mary Thomas, Margaret Davis and Phyllis MacFarlane (s) by a close margin of one shot ahead of the second-placed team.
On Tuesday evening, a gathering of 20 players assembled for the popular Sports Night bowls.
The winners on the night were Andrew Harris and Kim Ray (s) on two wins plus 16 shots from Peter Eade and Ray Brereton.
Sports Night bowls will continue on a weekly basis (weather permitting), with names to be listed prior to 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
The club championships are nearing completion with Ken Main defeating John van den Bosch to grab a semi-final berth. Main will play Frank Chugg while Philip Cunnington will meet the winner of the Steve Pavone-Bill Musgrove clash this week. The women are playing the quarter-finals. Current champion Leanne McInnes defeated Annette Brereton to make a semi-final.
Members have visited local tournaments during the past week with results to be handed in.
The club will hold the annual Christmas break-up on Friday evening at 6.30pm for a 7pm meal. Names are to be listed for catering purposes, and all hamper tickets are to be returned. The hamper will be drawn Saturday morning in front of Giddings Supermarket.
