THE women played a game of triples on Tuesday with a great deal of talent on display.
The winning team comprised Mary Thomas, Anne Lowrie and Lois Chugg (s), with daylight second.
In the CVBD weekend pennant grand finals, our division four teams battled valiantly against the stronger Mathoura combinations before succumbing to a 57-87 defeat.
Two rinks fell just short of victory while the remaining rink had a bad day at the office.

Players and members enjoyed a relaxing evening at the clubhouse to celebrate a successful season of bowls.
In the club competitions the women are playing the 100 Up championship.
First round winners were Annie Haines, who defeated Lorraine Appleby, while Annette Brereton proved too consistent for Denise Gilmore.
The men’s competitions are slowly being completed.
In the 100 Up championship, Kalvin Stout defeated Don Isgro to make the semi-finals.
Games to be completed are Andrew Harris versus Owen McPhee, Graeme Turner v Phillip Cunnington and Ian Johnson v Ray Hanson.
These games must be finished as soon as possible.
Likewise the remaining matches in the president’s trophy 21 Up championship.
Members have travelled far and wide to local tournaments.
The women enjoyed the hospitality and greens at Elmore triples and the Rich River Villawood fours.
The men have represented the club at Tongala, Lake Boga, Leitchville and Calivil.
The final night of the sports bowls was held on Tuesday evening with a smaller but a slightly higher standard field on show.
The winning team of Jacob Haines, Doug Pearse, Tom Davis, Ian Haines (s) collected the spoils with two wins plus five shots ahead of Carolyn Eade, Annie Haines, Jeff Carnie, Phillip Cunnington (s) one win/one loss +5 shots.
Organiser Chris Stewart thanked all the new talent for supporting the three-night series and trusted that they enjoyed the opportunity to learn the art of bowling.
The ladies were thanked for supplying the supper over the duration.
The club will hold the annual Toyota Open Fours this Sunday starting at 9.30am.
Entries are rolling in for this special tournament.

The weekly Friday practice and meal was generously attended with Phillip Cunnington winning the lucky members draw.
City of Echuca
CONGRATULATIONS to the division one and division two sides who competed in the grand finals on Saturday.
Although both teams lost, the Echuca players fought hard and should feel proud of their efforts.
Congratulations to the Moama sides and also sides from Mathoura, Rochester and Deniliquin RSL who won premierships on Saturday.
Next Monday, March 25, the division one midweek side will compete against Bendigo East in the regional final.
This match will be played at Eaglehawk Bowling Club, commencing at 10am.

Mathoura
MATHOURA’S weekend bowling season finished with the best possible result.
The division four side had an outstanding win against Lockington, claiming the match 87 shots to 56, a fantastic 31-shot victory.
Team members for the day and now premiership players were: Garry Hulm, Peter Wilson, David Murray and Glen McConchie (s); Pam Lewis, Peter Cowley, Craig Hillier and Ray Murphy (s); Adam Cowley, Wayne Cowley, Ash Prime and Tim Starkey (s).
Cec Moss was the team’s emergency.
These are the players that won the day but we have to thank the players who have played in this division from the start of the season for getting the team into this position, players like Bruce Papworth who had to have a hip replacement, and the others who for one reason or another did not make the final day, well done to all.

The club has had a good season with two sides making it to finals and one pennant won, the other divisions were all close to getting into the action, thank you to the board for your support of bowls for the year, also to our selectors and bowls committees and all the players in both the weekend and midweek pennant sides.
The men’s AGM will be held Monday, March 25 at 7.30pm.
Moama RSL
INDOOR bowls results from Monday’s play saw 22 players playing three games of 10 ends.
The winners on 37 points were Margaret Green (s), Ron Stranger and Hazel O’Dwyer.
Runners-up with 36 points were Rhys Jenkins (s), Bev Healey, Myrle Clancy and Johanna Bronsgeest.
Consolation prizes went to Tony O’Dwyer, Heather Smith, Colin Hicks and June Simpson.
Senior Citizens Bowls
The previous week’s indoor bowls winners were Bob Pascoe (skip), Bev Williamson, John Fatone and Joan Hales.
Runners-up were Tony O’Dwyer (skip), Miriam Pascoe and Shirley Davis.
