The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.
And to help you start your adventure this Christmas (and all year around), there is Collins Booksellers Echuca.
Serving Echuca-Moama for 21 years, the local bookstore is more than just a shop.
It has become a haven for bookworms of all ages, from one to 100, eagerly pouring through the doors on the hunt for their next literary adventure.
“A bookshop is a time-waster, it's so easy just to get lost and absorbed in all the books,” Collins employee Jacki Avers said.
“We see customers walk in all the time with an idea of something and they walk out with something completely different.”
There are thousands of books to choose from in-store, whether that's fiction or non-fiction, classics or crime, biographies or picture books for the littlies.
And if it's not on the Collins Echuca shelves, staff can easily order it in.
“If it's available in Australia, we can order it in and have it to you within five to seven business days,” Jacki said.
“And if it's only available outside Australia, we have suppliers who can get it to us within four to six weeks.”
And the team at Collins will move heaven and earth to get that dream book into your hands.
It's this passion for personal customer service which has seen customers continue to file through the front doors.
“As we get to know our readers, we recommend books we think they'd like,” Jacki said.
“And if there are new releases by their favourite author, we'll put a copy aside and advise them it's arrived.”
Taken over by current owner Cindy Patzel in October 2018, the shop has continued to thrive on Hare St thanks to this high quality service.
But the store won't be there for much longer.
On Boxing Day, Collins Booksellers Echuca will reopen its doors on High St, right next to Beechworth Bakery.
The store will be open seven days a week permanently after the transition.
So book readers, rejoice.
Thousands of adventures will be right at your fingertips, every day.
“We'll be taking up shop two and three there, so we'll have a little more space,” Cindy said.
“We really want to turn our Echuca store into a destination, and High St is the best place to do that.
“Plus it's right next door to Beechworth Bakery, so you can now get a beesting to go with your book.”
