Seymour VRI hosted Kyabram on Saturday, November 11, in the Goulburn Valley Playing Area.
Peter DElzotto, Bill Dawe, Moreno Puppa and skipper Mick Szczykulski were well down until the 10th end, claiming a five-shot win to tie the score at 10-all.
The side just missed on the end, going down 21-24.
Joy Cashill, Brett Voogt, Wayne Noonan and skipper Phil Challis commanded a very strong game and did not let up on the opposition, winning 39-19.
Paul Rolfe, Jett Wyatt, Helen Flint and skipper Brendon Challis struggled for most of the game after the fifth end.
On the sixth end, Kyabram picked up six shots and controlled the game thereafter, with VRI going down 17-29.
Kevin Cain, Peter Stevens, Greg Jones and skipper Joe Purcell were slow starting, with Kyabram leading 12-0 after the fifth end.
After the fifth, VRI bowlers found their mark and played disciplined bowls, to win 24-23.
Seymour VRI won the day 101 to 95 shots, placing Seymour VRI on top of the Goulburn Valley division three league.
Division five
Seymour VRI travelled to Merrigum, taking to the greens in hot, blustery conditions.
Keith Hoffmann, John Crocker, Jane Wilson and skipper Ian Cashill had an arm wrestle all game and ended up drawing with Merrigum, 18-all.
Judy Hoffmann, Jim Stephen, George Furletti and skipper Geoff Dixon controlled the game with great bowling from the skipper. The side rolled its way to a win, 28-9.
Jim Tuckwell, Ruth Crocker, Anthony Nachtical and skipper Stuart Crocker struggled all game and went down 12 to 24 shots.
Seymour VRi won the day, 56-51, placing Seymour VRI fifth on the Goulburn Valley division five ladder.
