Coaches will replace regional trains between Southern Cross and Shepparton from Friday, September 9 to Monday, September 19, and between Seymour and Shepparton from Friday, October 14 to Sunday, October 16.
Works undertaken during this period will allow VLocity trains to run to and from Shepparton and include upgrades to level crossings between Donnybrook and Shepparton, and progress on a new stabling facility north of Shepparton Station to house VLocity trains.
Barnes Rd bridge closed
A section of Barnes Rd near Katamatite has been closed to allow Goulburn-Murray Water to upgrade a bridge over the Murray Valley No. 2 Channel.
The upgrade will increase the bridge’s weight capacity.
The works include the design, procurement and construction phases, with the bridge scheduled for reopening in August 2023.
All traffic approaching the bridge from the Parnell Rd end will be diverted north up Barnes Rd to the Murray Valley Hwy, where they will travel east to Katamatite East School Rd, then west along Powerline Rd until they reach Barnes Rd again.
To reduce any unnecessary impact, Moira Shire Council is liaising with emergency services and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator so they can adjust their routes accordingly.
