Celebrating its first win of the Murray Netball League season on Saturday, United was ruthless in its 28-goal defeat of Congupna.
An even first quarter was soon blown out in favour of the Eagles, who used each quarter to further their margin beyond reach.
United's head of netball Chris Day said it was fantastic to see the new-look team celebrate its first win of the season.
“It was good to get a bit of consistency on the court,” Day said.
“It was a little bit tight in the first quarter, but the girls powered on and put the foot down.
“We extended it out with a good performance all over the court.
“Jess Saunders, she would have shot 90 odd percent, so that made a big difference.”
After losing its opening game to Moama, Day said United returned to training ready to work hard ahead of their game with Congupna.
“Throughout the week, the girls were able to work on a couple of the things from the week before,” Day said.
“They spent a little bit of extra time going through those structures so they had a better understanding of where each other were to be and how to run.
“It was good to see that come into play and them take advantage of that.”
Alongside Saunders, one of the team's rising stars, Tayla Wagner summoned a huge effort in centre.
“Tayla had a big game after a big learning curve from that first weekend,” Day said.
With the season now fully in motion, United has another big challenge in Deniliquin this weekend.
“They will be a challenge, they are a really good side,” Day said.
“It will be on our girls to continue to pick up from some of the things from the Moama game and keep building.
“Even though we had that good win, there is still plenty of challenges going forward.
“We know each team has different strengths and weaknesses, and we can't just sit on our laurels.”
Day also praised each of United's netball teams, who all returned home with wins on Saturday.
“It was a very good feeling after the day that everyone has their first one on the board, and it gives us somewhere to go from here,” he said.
