The Rich River Golf Club Championships will be played over the next three weeks, with several names in contention for top honours.
Steve Levy, last year’s champion, warmed up with a par round last Saturday and will be hard to beat if he can get the rust off his sticks, as he does not play a lot.
Paddy Hannon gave it a great run last year and will be in the mix again, while youngster Aaron Loader is hardly missing a fairway and only has to get the putter working a little better to take the title.
The “smokey” is former Horsham Golf Club champion Steven Jones who is in great form at the moment.
The women’s event could be even closer, with Chris Fleming, Marcia Spiers and last year’s winner Rosalie Drill all showing some good form.
Karen “Fitzy” Fitzgerald and the consistent Maree Ciavarella will be right there on the last day on the back nine.
The men’s competition begins on Saturday, November 12, while the women’s championship starts on Wednesday, November 16.
