Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra director Wendy Oakes said the performance was presented in collaboration with the Australian String Teachers Association and would involve 30 local string players of all ages and skills.
She said association teachers and renowned string specialists Julie Hewson and Hamish Peterson would run two workshops for local junior and senior ensemble players on Saturday and Sunday.
Ms Hewson is a baroque violin player who has performed across Europe and Australia and has taught baroque violin and viola at Melbourne University. She is currently an examiner for the Australian Music Examinations Board.
Mr Peterson is head of strings at Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School and has conducted Melbourne Youth Strings.
Mrs Oakes said this Sunday's concert would be held from 2pm at Goulburn Valley Grammar School, 455 Verney Rd, Shepparton.
Entry is by gold coin donation.
Mrs Oakes said the Playing for Palsy concert, featuring GVCO musicians at the Chapel on Maude music hub on October 27, raised $1480.10 for the Kids Plus Foundation, which supports children with celebral palsy.
