McCoomb started well but could not match the consistent ball striking of Ardley and 16-year-old Whyte got to within one shot with a couple of holes to play but the more experienced Ardley held his nerve to win by two shots.

Nathan Barker came from out of the pack to almost pinch it and Jim Patton had his name on the trophy with six holes to play, but had one bad hole. This left Heath Redwood with a one-shot win.
