The committee are calling for more volunteers to join their ranks after a boomer second year running the March event.

The small team of eight volunteers held their first ute show in 2017 with 45 utes and made a $3000 profit, which was distributed between community groups that helped out on the day. This year the profit jumped to $4500 with each group receiving a donation of $600 and an amazing 125 tricked out and highly polished cars came along for the event, despite only 25 having booked in before the day. Now the founding committee is keen to learn from the teething problems they encountered with the sudden growth, like the ground being dusty – it is show and shine, after all.

They’re preparing for an even bigger event next year, with plans to host the Show and Shine on March 8.

But they need more manpower.

The committee is on the lookout for more volunteers and community groups to help out on the day.

If you can lend a hand or put your clubs name down to work the day, contact Lyn Emmett on 0427 572 629.

The Stanhope Show and Shine committee will be holding their Annual General Meeting on July 15 at 7pm at the Stanhope Family Hotel.
