The Australian share market has started the month on a positive note and held on to its multi-day winning streak.

The S&P/ASX200 overcame an early dip to finish 19.2 points higher, up 0.23 per cent to 8145, as the broader All Ordinaries gained 24.6 points, or 0.29 per cent, to 8365.6.
It was the sixth-straight session of gains for the top 200, but also its weakest performance since the rally began.
Eight of 11 local sectors finished higher, but global growth concerns weighed heavily on miners and energy stocks.
The Australian dollar is buying 63.93 US cents, down from 64.14 US cents at Wednesday's ASX close.
