Dr Lee believes the dental health of children and establishing positive early experiences with dentistry is vital for maintaining lifelong oral health
Operating from High St from late 2014, Dr Lee’s independent practice brings 20 years of expertise, offering comprehensive family dental care with a skilled team of dentists.
This year’s Dental Health Week, from August 4 to 10, spotlights children’s oral health milestones, aiming to help children reach every S-milestone from birth through their first teeth and beyond.
Dental Health Week emphasises the importance of essential oral healthcare practices, helping your children reach crucial developmental milestones.
These essential oral healthcare practices include brushing twice a day using a fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between teeth daily with floss or interdental brushes, eating a nutritious diet low in sugar, and visiting Campaspe Dental regularly.
“I like to see people when they are young and teach them how to look after their teeth, so that we see them as adults, we see their kids and their kids’ kids, that is the ultimate goal,” Dr Lee said.
Dr Lee recommends scheduling a child’s first dental visit around ages four or five, with parents encouraged to bring younger children along to appointments for familiarisation.
“They can have a ride in the chair, hear the noises and there’s a smell to it,” he said.
“The more they can smell and hear the sounds, and things like that, the less likely they are to be nervous when they come in.
“If they see a good experience, they are hopefully going to have a good experience going forward.”
By booking your children into Campaspe Dental to check if their teeth are healthy, you will be able to chat with the friendly dentists and have all your questions answered.
The team at Campaspe Dental can walk you through tooth-friendly foods and drinks for little ones, tips for brushing and flossing, which is the best toothpaste for growing mouths and what to expect as your child keeps growing, to preserve their natural teeth for life.
And Dr Lee is a firm believer in preserving natural teeth.
“Despite all our technological advancements, I firmly believe that nothing surpasses the quality of a natural tooth,” he said.
“I would 100 per cent say, there is nothing as good as your natural teeth.
“If you can do those little preventative things or small things to keep them, you are going to be a lot better off.”
Campaspe Dental is an independent dental practice accepting all private health insurance funds.
