The triple-premiership star will take no further part in the game at Casey Fields, but completed some running drills at halftime.
The 30-year-old has had a wretched run with injuries, subbed off four times in 2022 after being limited to just 18 games during the two previous seasons.
The Demons were in control of the contest at halftime, leading by 38 points, with star ruck duo Max Gawn and Brodie Grundy combining for six goals in the opening half.
Melbourne played fast, slick football from the outset, piling on five unanswered goals in the first term and stretching the margin further in the second quarter.
