Echuca-Moama wedding event renamed Tie the Knot Festival

THE Tie the Knot Festival will be held on Sunday, May 2, at Echuca Racecourse. Echuca-Moama Bridal and Events Festival Committee president Shirley Tisher said the event, formerly called the Echuca-Moama Wedding Expo, had been running for several years and needed a change. “We’ve revamped it and made it more intimate and hands-on,” she said. “The space is a lot smaller and will feel more personalised. “We will have about 45 to 50 exhibitors taking part, as well as cake tasting and floral displays and food trucks doing food sampling. There will also be food and drinks for sale.”

Ms Tisher said a morning high tea would prove popular, with people needing to pre-book on the website.

“We also have a jumping castle and playground for the kids to be entertained. We have a lot of children who come along with their parents so it’s nice to have something for them to do,” she said. There will also be a small outdoor stage where vendors will hold interactive displays. Ms Tisher said Echuca-Moama continued to be a premier wedding destination for couples around Victoria and NSW. “About 50 per cent or more of couples who attend come from out of town, from places like Deniliquin, Shepparton, Swan Hill and Melbourne,” she said. The Tie the Knot Festival will be held on Sunday, May 2 between 10 am and 3 pm.
