Terrick Terrick National Park is 20km south-east of the town and supports more than 200 species of native flora, including many rare and threatened species.
Scenic drives take visitors to grasslands, granite outcrops, eucalypt woodlands and historical farming sites and the Pyramid Hill & District Historical Society is well worth a look.
Leitchville

A short drive to the ecologically significant wildlife site known as the Kow Swamp. The swamp is rich in bird and fish life and is water storage for the Torrumbarry irrigation scheme.
A picnic area on the east side of the lake is complete with a swimming area, toilets and barbecue facilities, with more barbecue facilities available at the north end of the swamp.
Lockington

Through the centre of Lockington runs an extensive channel network where you may see a “Loch Ness” yabby — a giant yabby which can be pulled up from its depths in the middle of town. If you find a yabby, make sure you stop in at the community owned hotel to tell the locals about it.
The Lockington and District Living Heritage Complex, is a local history museum paying homage to an incredible array of heritage farming equipment.
Rochester

The Rochester Sport Museum, open Thursday through Sunday, has a collection of sports memorabilia, information on Australian sports history and reflects Australian cyclist and politician Sir Hubert Opperman, born in Rochester, and his enduring cycling feats in the 1920s and ’30s.
Rochester GrainCorp silos are painted by Jimmy Dvate, dedicated to local flora and fauna with mural’s of the threatened azure kingfisher, squirrel glider and large duck-billed platypus.
There are over 50 pieces of public art spread throughout the town including a mural park in Moore St and a mural featuring former Rochester local and homicide detective Ron Iddles.
Through its museum and collections, the Rochester Historical & Pioneer Society offers valuable educational opportunities for residents and visitors alike, fostering an understanding and appreciation for the district's heritage.

Kyabram

Visit the Kyabram Fauna Park, home to over 400 Australian animals across 55ha. Get close to koalas, tour the reptile area, or help feed cassowaries.
The Kyabram Town Hall Gallery features rotating exhibitions of local, national, and travelling art, often including textile art, and houses an information centre. See the Kyabram Water Tank mural depicting endangered fauna park animals from the viewing platform at the old train station.

Tongala

Rushworth

Wander the wide high street, reading the ‘Walk through time’ plaques to learn about the gold rush era that once was. Visit the Rushworth Museum or the Ironbark forests on the edge of town.
The Rushworth Easter Heritage Festival with market, Easter Bonnets, dog show, street parade and demonstration of vintage vehicles is held every Easter Saturday. Rushworth market is along the main street, the third Saturday of each month.
Visit the site of the former township and gold mine, Whroo and Balaclava Mines in the surrounding state forest.
Colbinabbin

Travel to Colbinabbin to see one of the most wonderful pieces of silo art imaginable with five privately owned silos painted by artist Tim Bowtell.
The silos depict significant events in the history of Colbinabbin including paintings of the early farmers' picnics, transporting grain to and from the Colbinabbin silos, the role of the CFA and channel building to the town, and the massive tractor pull from the 1980s.
Barmah

Barmah National Park has the largest red gum forest in the world. Enjoy the Barmah Lakes Loop track, which begins and ends at the Dharnya Centre. The centre was established with the help of the local Aboriginal community to teach visitors about the region’s ecology, culture and history.

Deniliquin

Set on the Edward River, Deniliquin offers a variety of activities for visitors, including bushwalking and water sports. The Peppin Heritage and Visitor Information Centre is the ideal starting point.
Heritage walks take you past the town’s historic buildings and along a tree-lined river to the Island Sanctuary, where an abundant bird life can be seen.
Markets are held on the fourth Saturday of the month in Waring Gardens. The town is famous for the Deni Ute muster in October.
