The West Australian says she'll eat some home-cooked grub and then maintain her relaxed approach in Saturday's third round at Adelaide's Kooyonga Golf Club.
Rudgeley and her decorated compatriot Hannah Green are five under, one stroke behind Celine Herbin from France.
The 25-year-old Rudgeley says staying with a relative in Adelaide will help settle any nerves for what looms as the biggest weekend of her golfing career.
"Just play golf and see what happens, yeah," Rudgeley said.
"I'm staying at my uncle's so it's nice that he's here and I am getting home cooked meals and all that sort of stuff, it has been good."
Rudgeley, Green, Stephanie Bunque and Kelsey Bennett (both four under) are well-placed Australians entering the third round, and three-time major winner Minjee Lee (one under) can't be discounted.
Bunque, ranked a lowly 620 in the world, moved into contention with a superb four-under 68 on Friday.
"It's so cool," the 28-year-old from Melbourne said.
"It's a really good atmosphere and it's really fun, so to be able to put together a good round and shoot up that leaderboard coming into the weekend is really exciting."
World No.9 Green has attracted huge galleries and wants more crowd support as the Australian contingent seek to become the first local winner of the open since Karrie Webb in 2014.
"I'll definitely need to rely on them come this weekend because it's going to be hard to try and close out this tournament," Green said.
"But so far, I have put myself in a good position."
